Dogs have been part of the entertainment industry for as long as the industry has existed. There have been several fictional dogs depicted in literature, cartoons, comics, films and even TV series. Of these there are, but a few who have left a truly memorable impression on our minds. Let us now take a look at the 4 Most Famous Fictional Dogs of all-time.

Scooby Doo:

Scooby Doo is a Great Dane (best pet camera) who has been solving great mysteries and uncovering crimes for well over 45 years now. He is a huge but cowardly dog who loves nothing more than to eat his favorite Scooby snacks and sleep. Several relatives of his have also been featured in the several shows and movies that have been made as part of the franchise. To those of us who grew up watching and laughing at Scooby Doo’s follies, he is an unforgettable character indeed.

Snowy:

Snowy is a Boston Terrier with fur as white as powder snow. He is the loyal companion and friend of the famous Belgian boy reporter Tintin. Snowy is portrayed as being fond of chasing cats and has a taste for fine whiskey. His drunken adventures are a great source of comedy in the Comics. Snowy’s legend lives on as the Tintin comics continue to be adapted into films.

Snoopy:

Snoopy is a Beagle who is a part of the Peanuts Comic strips created by Charles M. Schulz. He is shown to be loving and with a clever wit. He was featured in every Peanuts strip until the death of the artist in 2000. Snoopy has also been featured in films. The legend of Snoopy has even been immortalized when NASA named a part of the Apollo 10 moon mission’s vessel as Snoopy. The command vessel of the mission was appropriately named as Charlie Brown, Snoopy’s owner in the comic series.

Santa’s Little Helper:

Santa’s Little Helper is the pet greyhound of the Simpsons Family. He has been gracing the silver screen for well over 25 years now and become a favorite of kids. Being a part of the crazy family can only mean that he is a bit crazy himself too and that certainly shows. Santa’s Little Helper has also been through a lot in these 25 years. He has had numerous medical conditions and has even served for a while as a Police Dog. He was brought home after being rescued from a racetrack as a Christmas present and he has definitely been one for us viewers.
